A Blog About Cars
I should have known that I would grow into a gear head too. There was no way to avoid it. Kris took me go kart racing for our first date, and our best conversations continue to be held while we are detailing a car or driving around.
In between falling in love, I was frantically googling all the vocabulary words related to cars Kris kept throwing into conversations. Nothing was out there for me to become an immediate expert, but over time (I’m not an expert yet!), reading an outdated version of //ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=US&source=ac&ref=tf_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=glutenfreeroo-20&marketplace=amazon®ion=US&placement=076457681X&asins=076457681X&linkId=9255ab690135fb2e1d2145ab1a17a044&show_border=false&link_opens_in_new_window=true&price_color=333333&title_color=0066c0&bg_color=ffffff“>NASCAR for Dummies, and Kris’ patient teaching, my passion for things with wheels is growing. How can it not? Kris’ passion for cars (and photography) overflows so that my learning comes from curiosity and not just a desire to keep up with the lingo.
A Blog About Cooking
If I wasn’t a teacher, I would probably be an event planner, a children’s book writer, or a chef. An empty pan inspires me, and growing up eating right out of the garden, I’ll eat just about anything. But as a wife I need to learn to cook in ways that cater to my husband’s tastes and needs. I joined Kris’ “gluten-free” team the year before we were married. This decision stemmed from my desire to keep him well. Turns out eating this way makes me feel better too. (Disclaimer: The posts on this site are not always celiac friendly. I’m writing from a gluten-intolerant perspective.)
A Blog About Christ
My faith that Jesus is my Savior has been the foundation for my life since I was seven years old. I remember interrupting my mom from her chores and asking her if she would pray with me. I wanted to ask Jesus to forgive me for disobeying God and to come into my heart to be with and help me. Beyond knowing that I will live forever with Jesus when I leave this earth, I have an exciting growing relationship with Jesus right now! Jesus and I talk throughout the day, and He gives me strength to obey Him (though I screw up a lot). Studying and teaching the Bible, and writing about what I am learning is actually really fun because it is spending time with Jesus!
What’s with the 55 Cups of Tea?
Good conversation over tea is natural. I don’t really like hot tea, but I will persevere through a cup for good conversation. Let’s pretend we are drinking tea and talking together on this blog. I hope you will comment your thoughts too! I picked 55 cups for Isaiah 55. “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.”
